Selena Gomez's international fame as an actress and singer is undisputed. The Disney film Wizards of Waverly Place was among Selena's most viewed productions. Selena Marie Gomez has a full name. Born on the 22nd of July 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett is her mother and Ricardo Gomez is her father. Selena's mother was just 16 when Selena came into the world. When she was nine years old, Selena landed her first job in showbiz after being cast in the role of Gianna in Barney and her Friends. This meant she was among several children to play alongside Barney, the well-known anthropomorphic pink dinosaur. Selena participated in a number of episodes in season 7 and 8 between 2001 and 2003. As a fun fact: Selena isn't the only performer to have appeared in Barney and the Friends during this period; Demi Lovato also was part of the team that starred in the series. Selena Gomez left the show and auditioned for other films and programs, but did not have much results. Her role was only a tiny one in the 2003 movie Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over) as well as another role similar to Julie on Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. The film also featured her as Emily Grace Garcia, a role she developed a musical for in 2006's Brain Zapped.
